Project Summary
I designed the mobile experience for Bodija, an e-commerce platform that provides Nigerians in the UK with easy access to traditional food items. Given that the primary users were older Nigerian adults accustomed to physical market shopping, I focused on creating a seamless, easy and frustration-free experience. I later redesigned the checkout process across web and mobile, to streamline payments, improving success rates by 15% and enhancing user satisfaction.
Problem Statement
Many Nigerians living in the UK struggle to find familiar, traditional food items conveniently. While online shopping offers a solution, older adults, who form a significant portion of this demographic, often find e-commerce platforms overwhelming and frustrating. Complex navigation, cluttered interfaces, and inefficient checkout processes deter them from completing purchases.
Solution
- Organize products into clear, well-defined categories to help users quickly find what they need.
- Implement a prominent search bar to enable quick and easy item lookup.
- Streamline product displays by showcasing only essential details for a clutter-free browsing experience
- Develop a seamless and frictionless checkout process to enhance payment efficiency.
- Introduce a gamification system with reward points to encourage customer retention and repeat purchases.
- Ensure accessibility through large CTA buttons and high-contrast colors for improved usability.
- Conduct usability testing and A/B testing to refine the shopping experience based on real user feedback.
